Hard water shortens a water heater's life, so a house from that decade is unlikely to still be running its original tank. Most of the community is on its second unit and some of it is on its third, all arriving at that point around the same time because the houses did. The 1,250 Anthem homes built in the 1990s are a decade ahead of that curve. If the job needs a plumbing permit, it comes from Maricopa County Planning and Development rather than a city counter.
